This position will manage the sales and sourcing of all cement kiln feed materials, as well as coal combustion byproducts and supplementary cementitious materials in the Sales Territory, while building client relationships and developing marketing strategies to increase Charah brand awareness.  Reports to: Director of Sales and Marketing, Domestic Materials

Responsibilities

  • Manage customer contracts in defined region including P&L responsibilities
  • Create demand for and sell organizations products to potential customers and prospects
  • Work with Charah logistics department to manage day to day shipments of materials via truck, rail, barge, and vessel
  • Develop new sources of materials needed by cement kiln customers
  • Prepare and deliver monthly financial updates based on performance to budget
  • Maintain territory market intelligence, identifying market size, customers and competitors
  • Attain sales goal for territory – Volume, Average Selling Price, Gross Profit, etc
  • Develop and execute a growth market strategy
  • Inform customers of price and supply trends
  • Participate in industry meetings and conferences
  • Work to resolve customer issues, problems, and concerns in a timely and effective manner
  • Other duties that may be assigned

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the cement or supplementary cementitious materials (SCM) sales industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain and present complex technical information in a useful and comprehensive manner
  • Ability to budget, forecast, and measure performance to budget
  • Ability to adapt to various social and business settings
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration and sales techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative and a self-starter
  • Excellent time management and task scheduling skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: Sustain interpersonal relationships which encourage openness, candor and trust, both internally and externally
  • Professional appearance, warm demeanor, and positive attitude

Work Environment & Conditions

  • Must be self-motivated and disciplined to set own schedule and perform independently as well as in a team
  • Ability to travel regularly with overnight travel required
  • This position requires a flexible work schedule; nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Mut be able to climb, maintain body equilibrium, reach, grasp, bend, and walk/stand/sit for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to hear and see naturally or with correction
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • This position requires working in the internal and external environment
  • Be subject to atmospheric conditions – one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin; fumes, odor, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
