Overview

This role provides technical and analytical support to project teams and operations by troubleshooting spreadsheets, improving workflows, and integrating systems for better efficiency. The focus is on optimizing project controls, cost management, and reporting by leveraging Excel, Power BI, and ERP integrations.

Responsibilities

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Fix broken spreadsheets, formulas, and macros to ensure smooth project tracking.
  • Debug errors in cost tracking, earned value calculations, and financial reporting tools.
  • Provide hands-on support for P6, HCSS, and Viewpoint-related data issues.

Process & Workflow Optimization

  • Identify inefficiencies in project controls, cost forecasting, and reporting workflows.
  • Automate manual processes using Power Query, VBA, and Power Automate.
  • Standardize and improve Excel templates for project cost tracking and scheduling.

Data Integration & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to support project performance analysis.
  • Ensure data integrity between Viewpoint, P6, HCSS, and Excel reports.
  • Assist with contract setup, earned value rate calculations, and financial reconciliations.

General Project & Operations Support

  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis to support decision-making.
  • Assist operations teams with technical challenges related to data and reporting.
  • Collaborate with project managers, finance teams, and field engineers to improve data visibility.

Qualifications

Skills & Tools Required:

  • Excel & VBA: Advanced formulas, Power Query, macros for automation.
  • Power BI & Data Analysis: DAX, Power Query, dashboard development.
  • Project Controls & Cost Management: Earned value, cost forecasting, P6 scheduling.
  • ERP & Estimating Systems: Viewpoint Vista, HCSS HeavyBid, P6 (preferred).
  • Automation & Workflow Tools: Power Automate, SharePoint, SQL (preferred).

Ideal Background:

  • Experience: 3-7 years in project controls, financial analysis, or operations support.
  • Education: Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certifications (Nice-to-Have): Power BI Certification, PMP, Lean Six Sigma.
